The manufacturing process of Viet Kai’s microfiber leather involves a sophisticated, multi-step procedure designed to simulate the structure of real leather:
- Spinning & Creating Yarns: PA6 and PE beads are mixed under high temperature and pressure to create long ultrafine yarns with a diameter 1/20th that of silk.
- Creating the Base: These yarns are cut, carded, cross-lapped, and needle-punched to form a flexible microfiber substrate.
- Embedding PU: The base is dipped in PU to enhance elasticity and structure.
- Refining: LDPE polyester is dissolved and removed to soften and thin the material, followed by finishing steps like oil absorption.
- Surface Finishing: Finally, the base is buffed to create suede or coated with PU to create various leather-like textures.
2. What distinguishes microfiber leather from other types of artificial leather?
The primary difference lies in the structural backing. Viet Kai's microfiber leather utilizes a backing that simulates the tightly interwoven fiber bundle structure of real cowhide. Unlike standard PU or PVC leathers—which typically use thin fabric layers—this unique 3D structure creates superior durability and bonding. Consequently, Viet Kai's material offers a better hand-feel, higher durability, and breathability while solving common peeling and cracking issues.
3. What are the standard thickness and width specifications?
Viet Kai offers microfiber leather in thicknesses ranging from 0.6mm to 2.0mm, depending on customer needs. The standard width for the material is 1.37 meters (54 inches).

WARRANTY AND MAINTENANCE
1. Is there a warranty, and what does it cover?
Yes, all Viet Kai microfiber leather products come with a minimum 2-year warranty valid from the date of delivery. This covers manufacturing defects including:
- Surface peeling
- Surface cracking
- Color fading caused by the product itself
2. What issues are NOT covered by the warranty?
The warranty excludes:
- Chemical Damage: Issues caused by incorrect cleaning agents (e.g., oil-based solutions).
- Physical Damage: Cuts or scratches from sharp objects or abrasive brushes.
- Sweat Exposure: Damage or discoloration from concentrated, continuous contact with human sweat.
- External Factors: Damage caused by pets, pests, or other environmental factors.
- Expiration: Issues arising after the warranty period.
3. How should upholstered products be preserved?
- Storage: Store at normal temperature and lighting conditions.
- Precautions: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures, and direct contact with sweat. Do not use oil-based detergents.
4. Is Viet Kai microfiber leather suitable for outdoor use?
Currently, our standard microfiber leather is optimized for indoor furniture and should not be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. However, as a comprehensive "one-stop" supplier, Viet Kai offers alternative high-performance materials—including specialized outdoor leathers and fabrics—to meet your specific application requirements.
5. How should I treat stains on the leather surface?
With the exception of non-water-resistant suede, Viet Kai microfiber leather is waterproof and low-maintenance. Stains can typically be wiped away using water-based or mild alcohol-based cleaners. As with any material, addressing stains immediately upon detection yields the best results. Please avoid using oil-based cleaning agents.
